1982
|
North, South, East and West were the four teams formed; following a meeting at the Park View Hotel held way through the 1982 Football season. North-Salisbury Football club oval – brown and gold vertical striped jumper, brown shorts, brown an gold socks. South – Port Noarlunga Football Club Oval, royal blue and white striped jumper , royal blue socks, blue socks. East- Payneham Football Club Oval, navy blue jumper with red collar, navy blue shorts, black socks. West – Lockleys Football Club Oval, black jumper with white V, black shorts, black socks. Noel Teasdale was instrumental in setting up Superules in South Australia. The season started with a game on Nhill Oval Vic, between a combined Victorian country team and a team picked from South Australia’s four clubs. All games were played at Thebarton Oval during 1982. | |||||

| 1983 | South Australia competed in the first National Carnival in Melbourne. Bob Cannan took over as Treasurer half way through 1983 season, from Stoddard. | |||||
| 1984 |
Three new teams entered the competition namely Blackwood, Renmark and River Murray. Blackwood – Blackwood Football Club Oval, green and red jumper, green shorts and green and red socks. Renmark-Renmark Football Club Oval, black and red jumper, black shorts, black and red hooped socks. River Murray – Johnston Park Football Oval (Imperial’s Football Club), double blue jumper, blue shorts, double blue socks. Darwin was the host city for the Carnival. SA did not participate, North moved from Salisbury Football Club to Pooraka Football Club Oval. East moved from Payneham Football Club Oval to Hectorville Sports Club Oval. |

| 1985 | Hobart was the host city for the Carnival. Marlene withy was the first female to be part of a South Australian Carnival side, and held the position of Property Steward. | |||||
| 1986 | Masters Australian Football –SA Division Inc. introduced a trophy for the most valuable contribution by a South Australian at the National Carnival. Jim Fenoughty won this Inaugural Trophy. Masters Australian Football –SA Division Inc. played 3 Exhibition Games. 1st North v East, Norwood Football Club Gala Day, 2nd East v Nurioopta, Nurioopta Gala Day, 3rd Curtain Raiser Broken Hill Grand Final, SA combined side v Broken Hill. 1986 Masters Australian Football – SA Division Inc. named the first Life Members. Masters Australian Football –SA Division Inc produced its first printed programme. | |||||
| 1987 | Hills formed a team to give the Masters Australian Football – S A Division Inc. an 8 club competition. Hills-Balhanna Football Club Oval, black jumper with gold sash, black shorts, black and gold socks. North became Pooraka. Ken Green Memorial Award Inaugural winner Roger Woodcock. | |||||

South Coast Roosters entered a team which was based at Strathalbyn Football Club Oval, red jumper with white V, white shorts, red and white socks. Making Superules South Australia a 9 team competition. Masterules was introduced a the 1988 Adelaide Carnival. |

| 1989 | The skilled Aboriginal team “The Wanderers” entered the association, making a ten team competition. The Wanderers home ground was Enfield High School, navy blue jumper with white V, white shorts, navy blue socks. | |||||

The Wanderers moved to Salesian College Oval, River Murray changed from Double Blue jumpers to a red jumper with royal blue and gold vertical stripe, royal blue shorts, red socks. South moved to Reynella Football Club Oval, from Port Noarlunga Football Club. |

| 1991 | Adelaide Plains entered a team with their home ground, Two Wells Football Club Oval. Jumper color red, black, white vertical stripe (St Kilda), black shorts, red, black and white hooped socks. Wanderers Superules club folded and left the competition. The introduction of Adelaide Plains allowed the association to maintain teams. Bruce Kuchel won the Masters National Carnival Drop Kick tile with a kick of 53 metres. | 1993 | Riverside Football Club entered a team, home grounds Port Adelaide Reserve. Red, black, white vertical striped jumper (St Kilda), black shorts, red, back and white hooped socks. 11 teams in the competition. Adelaide Plains moved from Two Wells to Eldred Riggs Reserve, Evanston (Gawler South Club), River Murray moved to Le Messurier Oval (Ramblers) | |||||
| 1994 | Mid North with their home base at Riverton joined the association, creating a 12 team competition. West Coast Eagles jumper (blue and gold) will be their club colours with blue shorts, blue and gold socks. Adelaide Plains changed their name to Gawler Districts. | |||||
| 1995 | Hills changed their home ground from Balhanna Oval to Bridgewater Oval. West changed their jumper from black with white V, to red, blue and yellow hoops (Crows) with blue shorts, red, blue and yellow hooped socks. | |||||
| 1996 | Gawler Districts moved to Gawler Central Oval, Princess Park Dog Track. Hills returned to Balhanna Oval. River Murray moved to Johnston Park Oval (Imperials Oval). 1996 Carnival was played at Rostrevor College Grounds, Adelaide. South changed their jumper to navy with light blue numbers with navy shorts, navy socks. | 1997 | Riverside changed their name to Portland, and also changed their jumpers to black, white, and teal blue (Port Power) with black shorts, black socks. Bill McDonald first South Australian inductee of Legends Hall of Fame Masters Australian Football. | |||||
| 1998 | Hills moved from Balhanna Oval to Uraidla Main Oval. South Coast changed their jumpers form red jumper with white V, to red, white and blue hoops with blue shorts, re d socks. Bob Cannan became the second South Australian inductee of Legend Hall of Fame Masters Australian Football Incorporated. | |||||
| 1999 | East moved from Daly Oval (Hectorville) to Broadview Football Club Oval (Broadview). Pooraka changed their jumpers from brown and gold vertical stripe, to back and white vertical striped jumper (Collingwood) with black shorts, black socks,. Mid North moved from Riverton Oval to Clare Oval. Games were played against Glenelg and Central Districts former League players for the first time, with some benefits but can be improved. Teams also played at both Mount Gambier and Broken Hill. | |||||
| 2000 | Gawler Districts moved from Gawler Central Oval, to Elizabeth Football Oval, Argana Park Elizabeth. Hills moved from Uraidla Main oval t Kersbrook Oval. South changed jumpers from navy with light blue numbers, to navy with black numbers, also changed from navy to white shorts, navy socks. Only one South Australian Superules team player attended the Tasmanian Carnival (Ian Hart) and played for Western Australia. Only one South Australian Masterules player attended the Tasmanian Carnival (Lyall Stubbing) and he played 2 games of Masterules form Western Australia, and 1 game of Seniorules (with permission) for South Australia. South Australia was represented in Tasmania with a Seniorules team consisting of 12 players from SA and 4 from Western Australia. 2000 saw the introduction of a new trophy “The Presidents Trophy” Inaugural trophy winner Bill McDonald. | |||||
| 2001 | East moved from Broadview Football Club to
Athelstone Football Club Oval 2. New teams admitted to the association namely
“The Phantoms” from PHOS Camden Football Club, Novar Gardens. Jumper colors are
purple and black with white shorts, black and purple socks. The “Northern
Hawks” from Salisbury North Football Club, Jumper colors are green with a gold
sash with green shorts and gold and green socks. Hills moved from Kersbrook
Football Club Oval to Lobethal Football Club Oval. John Rutherford became the
second South Australian honored with Life Membership Masters Australian Football
Inc. He also became the first South Australian to be elected as a board member
of Masters Australian Football Inc. Colin Withy became the third South
Australian inductee of Legends Hall of Fame Masers Australian Football Inc. Sadly 2001 saw the demise of the South Coast Roosters, but not without a fantastic effort to keep the team going as long as possible by Trevor and Deb Prior. The competition consisted of thirteen teams (13) |

| 2002 | SA Superules Inc had a name change and will now be known as Masters Australian Football – SA Division. Sadly 2002 saw the demise of the Northern Hawks from Salisbury North Football Club lasting only 1 season and 3 game of 2002 season. | |||||
| 2003 | 1 new team admitted to the association namely “The Fitzroy Football Club” (Sam Johnson Sports Ground) Renown Park to be known as Fitzroy Lions. Jumper colors are red, yellow and blue, shorts royal blue – dark, socks red. Hugh Barker became the fourth South Australian inductee of Legends Hall of Fame Master’s Australian Football Inc. Mark Doyle was named Seniorules All Australian Coach of the Year. | |||||
| 2004 | 13 teams made up the competition. Carnival played Queensland. John Rutherford became the fifth South Australian inductee of Legends Hall of Fame Masters Australian Football Inc. | |||||
| 2005 | 13 teams made up the competition. Carnival played in Adelaide, South Australia, Westminster School, Marion from Sunday 2nd October 2005, Sunday 2nd October – 8th Saturday October. Masters Australian Football SA Division won 4 Carnival Championship Trophies. Master Division 1&2, Seniorules Divisions 1&2. Mick Guerin became the 6th South Australian inductee of Legends Hall of Fame Masters Australian Football Inc. | |||||

14 teams made up the competition, thank to the welcome inclusion of the Rosewater Football Club “The Bulldogs”, Jumper colours red, white and blue hooped (Western Bulldogs), shorts blue with red and white striped sides, socks rd. Oval Eric Sutton Reserve, Newcastle Street, Rosewater. Carnival played on the Sunshine coast Queensland, Maroochydore, Sunday October 8th to Saturday 14th October. Pooraka new jumper red and blue with image of bull on front, blue shorts and red Pooraka down sides, socks red bottom and blue top. Clarry Fisher became the 7th South Australian inductee of Legends hall of Fame Masters Australian Football INC. |

15 Team made up the competition with the inclusion of a new club from Sacred Hearts College, Sacred Hearts College Senior Oval, Jumper double blue, blue short and double blue socks. Carnival this year will be held in Sydney at St Iguanas College |

15 teams made up the competition. The carnival was held in Darwin. Deb Fisher became the 9th South Australian inductee into the Legends Hall of Fame. |

Hill Shinglebacks joined the competition, and became affiliated with AFL
MAF SA. Country games
were held against Broken Hill and Mt. Gambier.
Cairns was the venue for the National carnival. |
